Artificial Intelligence in Adult Education

Artificial intelligence (AI) is shaping the future of our society at an unprecedented pace. However, this seemingly complex phenomenon is mainly reserved for scientists and experts, while the wide public is by and large watching from afar with curiosity and scepticism. This project aims to address this issue and overturn the lack of knowledge about AI among the public. The project will introduce the basic functions of AI, its implementation and impact in our everyday life, as well as the opportunities and risks it brings along the way.

About the Project

The aim of the two-year EU project (2020-2022) AIAE is to encourage people in Europe to engage with and actively shape AI.

The project will introduce the basic functions of AI, its implementation and impact in our everyday life, as well as the opportunities and risks it brings along the way.

The main output will be an online learning platform that provides trainers with a variety of learning materials (infographics, interviews, toolkits, etc.) for delivering training courses on the most important current AI topics. In addition, a train-the-trainer course will be developed to enable trainers from adult education to implement training on the key elements of AI. Through interactive elements such as quizzes or multiple-choice tasks, the learning platform is also suitable for self-study for learners who want to further develop their knowledge in the field of AI. Each learning unit is based on a didactic concept. Step-by-step instructions for each topic are designed to make it easier for trainers and learners to work through the materials in a structured and effective way.

The AIAE project is co-financed under a "Strategic Partnership" within the EU programme Erasmus+. It contains five partners from four European countries: Cyprus, Germany, Italy and Slovenia.
